PARI Mandate:
To conduct adaptive research activities in the Mid Western Zone (MWZ) of Uganda in order to increase use of NARO technologies and impart knowledge and skills to stakeholders.
PARI Goal:
To contribute to livelihoods and income of communities in the Mid-western zone by increasing agricultural productivity of the farming system.
PARI Objectives:
- To develop strategies for sustainable natural resource management
- To enhance knowledge and skills of the farming communities through participatory adaptive research
- To identify market opportunities and develop selected suitable enterprises for income generation
- To establish the socio-economic aspects influencing the farming sub systems in the MWZ
- To improve the productivity of crops and livestock in the zone
- To enhance farmers’ access to improved seed/breeding stock
