PRE-QUALIFICATION NOTICE

INVITATION TO PRE-QUALIFY FOR PROVISION OF GOODS, SERVICES AND WORKS FOR FINANCIAL YEARS 2012/2013 - 2015/2016

  1. National Agricultural Research organization (NARO) has allocated funds and intends to apply part of the proceeds of these funds towards the cost of Goods, Services and Works
  2. NARO invites suitably qualified bidders to submit sealed pre-qualification bids for the provision of Goods, Services and Works indicated below for the financial years 2012/2013 to 2015/2016

A.     GOODS/SUPPLIES

  1. Office equipment, consumables and Accessories
  2. Assorted Office Stationery , books and reading materials     
  3. Spare parts for Motor vehicle, Tractors and motorcycles
  4. Tyres, tubes, batteries and Spare parts for motor vehicle and Motor cycles
  5. Petroleum products (Fuel, Oils, Lubricants and Grease) for Ships, boats, outboard engines, Generators, Vehicle and Motor cycle.
  6. Construction and building  materials
  7. Animal and Poultry feeds
  8. Laboratory, workshop equipment, reagent, and consumables          
  9. Agro-chemicals, Veterinary drugs, seeds and planting materials
  10. Aqua equipment, chemicals, drugs and seeds
  11. Uniforms, curtains Protective wear and Carpets 
  12. Plumbing materials
  13. Agricultural tools and equipment
  14. Construction materials (Lake sand, stones, bricks
  15. Mycorrizahal soil, Loam soil and Manure
  16. Live stocks  (Goats, cows, Heifers, pigs and poultry) 
  17. Assorted Law books and legal materials
  18. Treated poles
  19. Generators, electricals and solar equipment (Industrial and Domestic)
  20. Hardware tools and equipment
  21. Gifts and promotional items
  22. Office furniture and fittings 
  23. Cleaning equipment and materials
  24. Air conditioners and accessories
  25. Firefighting equipment and spares
  26. Development and supply of computer software
  27. Sports Wear and equipment

B. SERVICES

  1. Secretarial, printing, binding & photocopying services
  2. Maintenance & repair of office tools & equipment
  3. Customs Clearing & Forwarding
  4. Repair & Maintenance of motor vehicles & Cycles
  5. Air Ticketing/Airline booking ,Tours & travel
  6. Security Services
  7. Courier Services
  8. Catering Services
  9. Cleaning and fumigation services
  10. Engraving
  11. Events management and Public Relations
  12. Maintenance & repair of electrical equipment
  13. Insurance Services
  14. Repair of boreholes, generators and mowers

C. WORKS

  1. Civil construction works (small works )
  2. Electrical works

  4. LAN and WAN  works
  5. Building and carpentry
  6. Water works

3.  Pre-qualification will be conducted in accordance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act 2003 of the Government of Uganda. Pre-qualification is open to all bidders from eligible source countries.

4.  Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from National Agricultural Research Organization and inspect Pre-qualification document at the address given below at 7(a) from 9.00a.m to 12.00 noon and 3.00pm to 5.00pm.on official working days.

5.  A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below at 7(b) and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of UGX. 50,000 for each of the goods, services or works. The method of payment will be cash payable directly to the Uganda Revenue Authority designated account. The document will be hand delivered upon presentation of a copy of an official receipt.  No liability will be accepted for loss or late delivery.

6.  Pre-qualification bids must be delivered to the address below at 7(c) at or before 2.00 pm  on 16th May 2012.

    Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives, who choose to attend at the address below, 7(d) at 2.30 pm on 16th May 2012.
